Evaluation Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

The Evaluation ManagerConsumer State Advocacy Hub (the Hub) will be responsible for managing the evaluation of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation-funded Hub project.   

This is a part time (50%) grant-funded position that will begin August 1, 2020 and is funded through May 2023. The position will be posted internally for one week prior to external posting.   Qualified internal candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. 

SUPERVISION

The Evaluation Manager will work closely with the Director, State and Local Technical Assistance.  The Evaluation Manager’s supervisor of record will depend on other responsibilities they may have. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Manage all aspects of the Hub evaluation, coordinating with the outside evaluator and internal Community Catalyst content experts. 

  • Lead the process of developing the evaluation parameters, the Request for Proposals and selecting an external evaluator. 

  • Serve as the primary liaison for the Hub’s external evaluator. 

  • Ensure that evaluation activities are incorporated into the project plan and coordinate grantee participation in the evaluation. 

  • Communicate with Hub grantees about evaluation activities and provide technical assistance to grantees around the evaluation when needed. 

  • Participate in evaluation activities as appropriate. 

  • Communicate with the funder about the evaluation as appropriate. 

  • Serve as an organizational resource on evaluation. 

  • Perform other duties as necessary to achieve the goals of the Hub project. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Required 

  • A Bachelor’s degree plus three years of related experience, a Master’s Degree plus two years of related experience, or five years of relevant work experience 

  • Commitment to social justice and experience in social change activism. 

  • Proven success in a project management role, with a focus on the ability to coordinate a disparate group of internal content experts and facilitate efficient decision-making. 

  • Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work independently as well as work collaboratively as part of a team. 

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal). 

  • Experience working with outside contractors. 

  • Excellent people skills, tact and diplomacy. 

  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks at once, respond to tight timelines, pay attention to detail, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people. 

  • Ability to travel several times a year. 

 Preferred 

  • Bilingual/bicultural background  

  • Experience evaluating advocacy programs
