Dear partners,

As we enter a new year, we at Community Catalyst are filled with hope and purpose. A big part of our purpose for 2021 will be the Restuccia Health Justice Fellowship's official launch – a new Community Catalyst initiative.

The heart of the Restuccia Health Justice Fellowship program is a commitment to supporting the growth and reach of health advocacy organizations and their leadership teams. At Community Catalyst, we have always believed that investing in community leadership is essential to progress. The Restuccia Health Justice Fellowship is designed to deepen that commitment, with an emphasis on supporting leaders of color.

I am delighted to announce that Alexis Major, a tremendous health justice leader in her own right, will be taking the helm of this essential initiative. As a 10-year veteran of Community Catalyst, Alexis brings deep experience and expertise to this role. Alexis's dedication to health equity and racial justice is reflected in her many years of working as an incredible agent for meaningful change. She was recently selected as a 2020 Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Culture of Health Leader.

As Alexis noted in the video, Community Catalyst is readying for a spring 2021 launch of the program – based on a framework built by a dedicated committee that included Rob's colleagues, family members, friends, and some of the nation's leading health advocates.

Alexis is also the co-founder of a local non-profit, the Dreamcatcher Initiative (DCI), which focuses on underserved communities and youth by strengthening their existing power through its three pillars: entrepreneurship, bridging the gap between community and services, and behavioral change with support. Alexis knows firsthand how invaluable investments like the Restuccia Health Justice Fellowship can be.

Alexis is the perfect leader for the Restuccia Health Justice Fellowship at this critical time. In her own words, Alexis shared that "2020 was a year permeated with fear and uncertainty, but it has also been a year of reflection, transformation, uprising, and hope. I am honored to partner with today's leaders, preparing for a better tomorrow as we work together toward a more robust, responsive, and inclusive health system."

The Fellowship application process will officially open in spring 2021, and we are excited to share more information. In the meantime, click here to learn more about the Restuccia Health Justice Fellowship Program!
