Alert: Kicking Off Open Enrollment

Dear Partners,

Open enrollment begins tomorrow! We know you have all been hard at work educating people about the law and encouraging newly-enrolled people in your communities to renew their coverage. On the eve of what is sure to be another successful and busy open enrollment period, we wanted to share some resources and encouragement for the work ahead.

Watch and Share: Getting to Covered

Even in challenging environments, outreach and enrollment was hugely successful last year. Community Catalyst is officially releasing our video, Getting to Covered, telling the story of enrollment in three Southern states – Alabama, Florida and North Carolina. Thank you to everyone who worked to make the video a reality and all the video participants. We would like to extend a special thanks to Jim Carnes with Alabama Arise, Ryan Morris with Florida CHAIN, and Nicole Dozier and Adam Linker with North Carolina Justice Center. We hope this video will serve as an important illustration of the importance of in-person help, no matter what part of the country you work in. Please watch and share the video.

Social Media Resources

Today, we will be using the hashtag #ReadySetEnroll to spread the word that open enrollment starts tomorrow. Please join us on Twitter by using #ReadySetEnroll in any open enrollment tweets you send this afternoon. We have three #ReadySetEnroll themed share graphics that you can download here. Additionally we have created sample social media posts for today and for the beginning of open enrollment. Enroll America has also created new #GetCovered profile pictures that you download in a variety of colors.

As we reach out to the remaining uninsured, it’s also important to remind those who enrolled last year to take steps to renew their coverage. You can find our #PlanToRenew social media materials and resources here.

We hope these resources are helpful to you as you head to the starting line for open enrollment. If you have any questions or feedback on these materials, please contact Christine Lindberg.

Thank you for your continued advocacy.
