Join Us In Celebrating The 50th Anniversary of Medicaid & Medicare

Dear Partners,

We hope you’re as excited as we are to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Medicaid and Medicare programs the week of July 27! We know that a lot of the work you’ve been doing has revolved around educating policymakers about all the good programs like Medicaid and Medicare do in our communities. As such, we wanted to provide you some resources to help you celebrate this important anniversary and further inform your key audiences about these programs.

We partnered with Spitfire Strategies to create a toolkit to help your organization raise awareness about this important milestone. In the toolkit you’ll find:

  • A sample newsletter or blog post that you can personalize with your state’s enrollment numbers; and
  • Examples of social media posts, including tweets that apply to states that have and have not yet closed the coverage gap.

Download the toolkit

We would also like to direct you to some great resources from some of our partner organizations, such as:

  • Several resources created by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, particularly their series breaking down the program’s benefits for seniors, women and children, as well as how Medicaid works to ensure improved quality and preventative services in our health care system;
  • The Medicaid at 50 resources complied by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities which includes fact sheets with data for every state; and
  • The Medicare and Medicaid at 50 and Beyond data and educational materials compiled by the Kaiser Family Foundation.

If you have any questions or need any additional resources, please contact Jack Cardinal at and stay tuned next week for our state partners blog series and a set of infographics we’ll be sharing to celebrate this important anniversary.

Thank you for your continued advocacy,
