Community Catalyst Boosts Advocacy Efforts With New Campaign Director
(BOSTON, MA) – Community Catalyst, a national consumer health advocacy organization, today announced the addition of Christian LoBue to its senior management team as the organization’s first-ever Campaign Director. LoBue’s hiring into this new position, which also oversees the Community Catalyst Action Fund, signifies an organizational shift toward more campaign-based consumer advocacy. LoBue previously served as the District Director for Congresswoman Katherine M. Clark (D-Melrose) of Massachusetts.
“Attacks on health care at the state and federal level have not let up, and Community Catalyst is refocusing our approach to respond more strategically given the current political climate,” said Executive Director Robert Restuccia. “As someone with a deep background in policy, advocacy and government, Christian understands that a strong consumer voice is critical to protecting and improving people’s access to high-quality, affordable health care and policies that promote better health. Her experience in Congress and with organizations that are leading voices in their respective areas of educational opportunity and access to reproductive health positions her well to lead our campaign work and build the capacity of our Community Catalyst Action Fund.”
In the Campaign Director role, LoBue will spearhead Community Catalyst and the Community Catalyst Action Fund’s campaign activities by developing, leading and implementing campaigns on the federal level on behalf of the organizations. She will provide support, training and technical assistance to state and local organizations to develop expertise when there is an opportunity to make a policy or systemic change at the federal, state or local level. LoBue will build campaigns to support federal priorities with a strong focus on grassroots organizing, coalition and partnerships, and civic engagement strategies.
“I am thrilled to be joining Community Catalyst’s efforts to defend and expand access to affordable, comprehensive health coverage and care,” LoBue said. “There are millions of people across the country with so much on the line, and in this new role, I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues and state partners in the fight for health justice.”
LoBue previously served in both field and campaign roles with Planned Parenthood Federation of American and Action Fund and as Government Relations Manager for Jumpstart.
