(BOSTON, MA) – Four friends of Community Catalyst are building on their dedication to health care advocacy to serve as liaisons between the insurance industry and its consumers. The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has named its 2010 Consumer Liaison Representatives. Among those named are Joseph Ditre, executive director of Consumers for Affordable Health Care and board member of Community Catalyst; Stacey Pogue, senior policy analyst for the Center for Public Policy Priorities; Georgia Maheras, private market policy manager of Health Care for All; Barbara Yondorf, president of Yondorf & Associates and Colorado Consumer Health Initiative; and Elizabeth Abbott, project director of Health Access.

NAIC is an organization of the chief insurance regulatory officials in the United States aimed at protecting consumers while maintaining the financial security of the insurance marketplace. The mission of the Consumer Liaison Representatives is to support state insurance regulation by providing consumer views on insurance regulatory issues.

Our four allies’ longtime support of consumer needs make them ideal for helping to improve insurance regulatory systems so they benefit all policyholders. Community Catalyst congratulates them on this honor and their ongoing commitment to serving the public interest.
