Community Catalyst Welcomes New Members to Board of Directors
Michael Currie, Rohini Kosoglu, Jillian Miranda, Kavita Patel, Asha Rodriguez, Adam Rothschild and Joyce Chan Russell join leading health justice advocacy organization
BOSTON, MA — Community Catalyst, the national health justice organization, today announced Michael Currie, Rohini Kosoglu, Jillian Miranda, Kavita Patel, Asha Rodriguez, Adam Rothschild and Joyce Chan Russell were unanimously elected to its distinguished board of directors to advance health care access, affordability and accountability.

U. Michael (Mike) Currie most recently served as the Chief Health Equity Officer at UnitedHealth Group before retiring in October 2023. He’s held public and private sector roles focused on population health improvement and continues to serve on local and national boards focused on addressing the barriers to improved health outcomes. He holds a Bachelor’s from Morehouse College, MPH from George Washington University and MBA from Johns Hopkins University.
Rohini Kosoglu invests in early-stage healthcare and technology companies as a venture partner at Fusion Fund plus advises companies and boards on regulatory dynamics as a Senior Advisor at Assemble. She previously held senior leadership roles in the White House and Congress and was a key negotiator in the Affordable Care Act, 21st Century Cures, and Cancer Moonshot. She recently held fellowships at Stanford University’s Institute for Human-Centered AI and the Harvard Kennedy School’s Institute of Politics and is founder and board chair of The DAND Alliance.
Jillian Miranda is a three-time, exited founder, ecosystem builder and healthcare commercialization strategist in digital and women’s health. She consults with startups as well as a number of venture funds including Health2047, the AMA’s venture studio. She maintains more than 15 board and advisory board positions plus earned degrees from Marymount Manhattan College and City University of New York Graduate Center.
Kavita Patel, MD, MS is an Internist and Professor of Medicine at the Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Patel advises healthcare companies as a Venture Partner at New Enterprise Associates and previously served as Director of Policy for the White House under President Obama and as Deputy Staff Director to the late Sen. Edward Kennedy.
Asha Rodriguez is President of Atrium Health Cabarrus, part of Advocate Health in North Carolina. She previously held leadership roles with CHRISTUS Health and began her career at Teach for America. She holds an undergraduate degree from Florida A&M and an MBA from George Mason University and serves on several nonprofit and advisory boards.
Adam Rothschild is a global business leader and board member with deep expertise in research, analytics, business development and marketing. He spent 30 years at American Express and most recently served as Chief Marketing Officer at Blue Owl AI and Chief Data Officer at Global30. He holds a BA in Economics from Harvard University.
Joyce Chan Russell is a senior healthcare executive. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President of Government Markets at Priority Health, where she owned P&L for a $3.7 billion health plan portfolio. Previously, she held roles at Healthfirst and Booz & Company. She holds an MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business and undergraduate degrees from The University of Texas at Austin.
