Generics Are Powerful Medicine (GPM), a national program that uses grassroots outreach to educate low-income and underinsured people about the safety, value and effectiveness of generic drugs, is proud to announce the launch of the GPM website, www.genericsarepowerful.org. The site features consumer education materials in English and Spanish, as well as an 8-minute video, about generic drugs.   The site also features a tool for consumers to look up whether their prescription drug is available as a generic.

The two-year project is a joint effort of Community Catalyst and faculty from Harvard Medical School. GPM assists community-based organizations reach consumers by providing training and education materials including a short video, an easy-to-understand brochure, print materials and a website. Organizations in the following states are implementing the GPM program in their communities: California, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, New Hampshire, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Washington, and West Virginia.
