Health system leaders from around the country will discuss how expanded coverage through the Affordable Care Act has accelerated important innovations in health care financing and delivery, as well as improvements in quality, population health and cost containment. These industry leaders will also share their unique perspective on how disruptions and loss of coverage will endanger these important advances in care and affect the health systems they lead, during “Too Much to Lose: Protecting Patients, Protecting Progress in Health Care,” a panel discussion at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 2017 at the National Press Club.
A consensus statement endorsed by more health systems from across the country will also be released at the event, affirming their support for affordable, high-quality insurance coverage and a strong Medicaid program, and a focus on continuing to drive the movement towards high value, comprehensive and coordinated care.
The event, which is sponsored by The Commonwealth Fund, Missouri Foundation for Health, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, and the Center for Consumer Engagement in Health Innovation, is open to the public and will include an opportunity for audience questions. Speakers will also be available to the media following their presentations. Follow the event live on Twitter at #ProtectInnovation.
