Commonwealth Care Alliance Model Profiled in White Paper

The JSI Training and Research Institute released a white paper on the history and structure of the Commonwealth Care Alliance (CCA) as a pioneering social accountable care organization model. In operation for more than a decade in Massachusetts, CCA provides coordinated, person-centered, community-based care to low-income individuals with an eye toward achieving the Triple Aim. The paper assesses the development of CCA’s care, payment and delivery reforms and focuses on the visionary innovations implemented by CCA’s leadership.

CMS Offers New Special Innovation Project Awards

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has invited Quality Innovation Network-Quality Improvement Organizations to collaborate with health care providers to compete for 28 Special Innovation Project awards totaling $8 million. CMS is particularly interested in projects that both advance health care quality in specific regions and efforts that are ready to be scaled up to have a wider impact.

New Tool to Evaluate Patient-Centeredness

The National Health Council developed a patient-centered value model rubric to help evaluate the patient centeredness of value models and to guide value model developers on the meaningful incorporation of patient engagement throughout their process.
