Issue Brief Summarizes Findings From Dual Eligible Demonstration Evaluations

Justice in Aging has published an issue brief that summarizes the findings from the evaluation documents released by CMS on the dual eligible demonstrations. Justice in Aging identifies six key lessons learned from the demonstrations thus far and makes a variety of recommendations related to those findings.

Survey of Physicians and Hospitals on How to Cut Costs

The New England Journal of Medicine Catalyst Insights Council released the results of a survey about physicians’ and hospitals’ views on how to reduce health care costs. Among the findings are that provider organizations seem inclined to deal with pressure for efficiency by adding new services and systems, such as care coordinators and by trying to increase their market share of care that is delivered. Changing how care is actually delivered seems to be a less attractive option.
