Jessie Zimmerer, MPP, is the Associate Director of Policy & Strategy Campaigns at Community Catalyst. In this role, Jessie is responsible for day-to-day management of federal campaigns and provides support and guidance for state campaigns conducted by Community Catalyst staff as well as state partners. Working with the Director of Policy and the federal campaign team she leads, Jessie devises both long- and short-term campaign strategies for the organization—including legislative, field, and communications components—to advance health justice, increase organizing power, and strengthen civic engagement initiatives related to quality, affordable, and equitable health care.

Jessie brings nearly a decade of experience in state and local government and campaigns to her work at Community Catalyst. At age 23, Jessie was elected to the La Grande City Council, and has served in a variety of capacities in campaign and government offices in the years since. Most recently, as a legislative director in the Massachusetts Senate, Jessie led statewide efforts to reform the broken criminal justice system, establish basic civil rights protections for LGBTQ+ people, and ensure equitable access to industry for women and people of color.

Jessie received a Master in Public Policy (MPP) and a master’s degree in women’s/gender studies from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University.
