Karla Martinez is a Senior Policy Analyst at Community Catalyst. In this role, Karla provides policy expertise and technical assistance on immigrant health policy.

Before joining Community Catalyst, Karla was a Senior Policy Analyst at Every Texan where she provided policy expertise on statewide health coverage eligibility policy, health care access, and immigrant access. In that role, Karla led community-centered state campaigns and initiatives. Karla has diverse experience in health including providing direct patient education, as an enrollment assister in the Affordable Care Act, and familiarity with food programs and policy.

Karla has a bachelor’s degree from Texas State University and a master’s in public health from the University of Texas Health Science Center. Karla was one of 14 young leaders around the country invited to join the inaugural class of Rising Leaders for Results fellows with the Annie E. Casey Foundation.

Karla is a native Texan, daughter of Mexican immigrants, and current Austin resident.
