Living Independently: Olivia’s Story
Olivia Richard’s ability to live independently, with services that meet her needs, preferences and goals is greatly enhanced through the assessment and coordination provided by Jennifer Turpin, an Independent Living Long-Term Services and Supports (IL-LTSS) Coordinator at the Boston Center for Independent Living.
“Society has a preconceived notion of what people with disabilities are like,” said Jennifer. “People think they’re unable to accomplish things, when really all they need is a small obstacle to be removed and they hit the ground running. And Olivia is a great example of that because she’s got such a can-do attitude.”
